Hi everyone.

the AC in my coupe isn't working. never has. the wires coming out the top are all snapped and it totally out of gas so its just sitting under the bonnet doing nothing. i know on the earlier models they didn't have it so i take it i can get it removed??

how easy a job would this be do people think??

when i was at Auto italia i saw a fair few coupes on the coupe owners club stand without it and it opened up a bit of well needed space under the bonnet.

i'm having my spare turbo rebuilt and was thinking of removing the AC at the same time as swapping the turbos over.

No problem..apart from needing a shorter belt..aux or timing if you remove the compressor. Can't remember off hand which drives it.

Give a load more space in the engine bay and makes belt changes easier.

Cheers for that. as i thought. i'll get the shorter belt needed and get it out of there!! lets be honest here we only need it for 1 week a year if we're lucky!! its the heaters we're worried about in the UK :D
