Technical air bags

does anyone know about the primary air bag sensor located on the frount panel. just bought a smashed car. no bags gone off but this sensor has been ripped off by the wires is there a way of checking it is ok before i connect it back up??????

pls be a bit more specific...
If you buy a smashed car and the damage is big and they didn`t go off you might concider replacing the airbag module (located arround the gear shift in the center collum)
