Hello to all.....I've just found this site, and having just got back into Fiat's it looks like a good place to be !!
I had a couple of 131's many moons ago, which were great fun, then got into Mini's ( Proper one's, not German copies!!). Still got my fingers in the Mini pie, but fancied a change, and seem to have aquired a 94 Cinq, just a basic 899, to have a fiddle with. It was cheap off e-bay, and having now looked at it in daylight, I can see why !!! Safe to say, you'll be seeing plenty of posts on the Cinq tech. forum !!
Take it easy all, and please feel free to ask if anyone has any Mini questions.
Neil :)

Welcome!

Mini's are great arn't they?! We had a mini van and a normal mini (ex police car). I think the ex police car had been tweeked (y)

Oh hang on fiat forum.. good luck with the Cinq. Probably the biggest group on the forum so you have found a lot of brains to pick.

Hello again, and thank you all for the warm welcome. Yep, Mini's are a lot of fun, but can be very labour intensive, and are starting to be come a little pricey if you start playing with them !!!
I guess one of the reasons I was drawn to the Cinq is that in a lot of ways it reminds me of an early Mini - simple and easy to play with, ad with a fair bit of potential..... we'll have to see.....
Cheers, Neil

Hi T14086.... bit of a tricky one that I haven't actually had a go at myself, although one of the guys on the Nini forums said he couldn't do it without a bloody big chainsaw, and even then the boot was full after the first 3.....
please let us know if you have any better luck !!! ( May I recommend maybe using a van or estate, or I guess a pick-up and a lot of rope may be the easy way to go !!)
Hannah, no pics yet, to be honest it's nothing exciting really, just a basic 899 metalic green Cinq.....but if you really want on, I'll see what I can do :)
Cheers, Neil

(y) thanks for that...on a non-serious note have you ever fitted 6x9 speakers in back shelf of your/a mini...must of been one of the most awkward jobs I have ever done!

Hi from one Newbie to another !!

I too suffer from the mini-affliction, as my nickname states....... Funny you should bring up 131's as my father had a super'fury back in the early '80s. Went very well for it's time, super little car really and very underrated, shame it surcame to the usual rampant rust in the end !!

Phil.
