Beware the navigation facility.
The first one seems to need a separate nav unit installed elsewhere to just feed the display to the head unit, so more expense and need to find a location for it.

The second one seems to have the nav facility built in, but does not appear to come with nav software, you have to source that separately. The I-go one listed is not available to retail customers, so if you find one it will probably not be updateable. (Been through the research on this for my brother.)

Before committing to any of these research the nav software source and upgrade options to avoid disappointment.

Compare these with similar branded items from Halfords to get a good idea of what it will or won't do.

Remember the old saying, "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is."

I would be going with the second (cheaper option)

I've been looking online for a few hours now and can't really find anything on a search for Erisin ES788G but found a video relating to the product above.

I found another as well but didn't save the link.

Good spot on the nav stuff, I've got a cheapo chinese sat nav that has the I-Go maps loaded and quite like them so would love to get them loaded on to it - not looked in depth / researched yet.

My main concern is getting it all wired up as I know nothing and with it being a first car an all I've never done anything like this before. I've been searching for guides and other people with aftermarket HUs and I think I'll need to buy the tools to get old radio out (two prong things) and a fascia for new unit.

Do I need additional wires / cables as well? I'd want the radio to work on it as well.

I-Go only supply OEMs. It is available on the iPhone, but otherwise no retail outlets. They supply some vehicle manufacturers and some nav system manufacturers, which can be updated via the I-Go website. On Amazon and Ebay you can find cheap nav systems using I-Go, but these are unauthorised, described in the small print (if they bother) as demo or assessment products. It is not possible to update those as they are not licensed.

You will need the removal tools. Don't push them in too far or they jam. Push until they click into place.

With wiring, both original and replacement units should use ISO standard connectors, but Fiat sometimes reverse the two feeds. One is permanent live, the other switched from ign. The instruction with the new unit will show what is expected, you will need to check the car matches. If not, you will need an adaptor, just a length of wires with plug one end, socket the other, but the 12v feeds transposed between them. Halfords or any Car Radio shop will have them. Just a few quid. Without, your radio may not understand the ign on/off properly.
