Hi, I have ordered a new 500C as posted in other threads and went for the bossa nova white with red stripe and chrome wing mirrors and upgraded alloys...well I am thinking of changing the spec as can still make changes to spec and am thinking of the phunk white with the red leather interior and ambient white with no stripes etc...does anyone know if the phunk white costs a fortune if you need to get it painted etc?...any opinions re choice etc would be much appreciated?

This is what I was thinking of changing too exactly

Far better without any stripes, but the pearly white is very expensive and probably more expensive to colour match.

I know but it does look gorgeous...anyone own a funk white?

I don't own a Funk White but if I'd had another 500 hatch it would've been in Funk White, albeit £700 worth of paint.

As is I've gone for the Tech House Grey 500C with ivory roof, as I really, really, REALLY wanted Punk Grey when I ordered my original 500, but I couldn't stretch my budget.

If you can afford it, go for it. It's a stunning colour and a clever idea. Afterall the 500 looks great in white but the world and his wife opt for BN white. Funk white not only suits the car but makes it look the dogs dangleys too (y)

Funk white looks GREAT in bright sunshine, it really does and looks rather luminescent but just remember how often you'll be getting that sort of sunshine here in the UK ;) I drove up behind a FW 500 the other day and it looked really dull and as I looked in my rear view mirror it was blindingly bright. The white will look brighter on a dull day and that £700 could buy you some other goodies for your car. I'd personally stick with a cheaper colour myself.

Real life picture of Raggamuffin Red with Elle McPherson who is btw the inventor of the McPherson strut (fact!!!!)

See how it looks totally different under bright light?

Hi, I've had my 500 Funk White over a year now. I spent an age deciding whether or not to go for it thinking it was too girly (for me as a bloke).

Don't regret it for a moment. It is such a good colour. In my opinion, it makes the car look even more up market than it already is ;)

It is a total pain with any stone chips, etc. The touch up pen is rubbish and simply doesn't really come close to looking like the original paint finish. I've been really lucky in my first 10000 miles but yesterday had a chip on the bumper which went right down to the black bumper :( and it'll take several coats of touch up just to colour it in.

So, don't think twice about it. I will agree that in some light it doesn't have any thing amazing about it, it's more a case of when you see it at night or just on some slight sun it really shows off the car's curves.

I will say however, I'm not 100% about the red roof. Having owned an Elise in titanium with a red roof a number of years ago. It did look good, but as it quickly fades it does tend to look a bit pink....not great for a bloke.

If I went for the 500c, it'd prob be funk white with a black roof and the red leather I currently have. Although at the moment I'm not doing anything until the 95bhp diesel engine is available. I've the 16" multi spokes which I love, I do like those new alloys on the photo you're on about going for....I'm personally just a bit unsure about how good they go with the retro image....not sure they aren't a bit too boy racerish (my opinion)

are there any more realistic pics of the ragamuffin red as cant really see it probably in the pics?...would it still have the same misgivings as the funk white re touching up as both pearlescent?....oh why didnt they just make one colour!!!:)

Wait to see one in the metal. Colours never look the same as in photos at the best of time before considering the pearlescent aspect.

you may find someone who lives in your neck of the woods who could show you their's? This is what we did when we chose our calypso orange and met a great guy too (y) you know who you are :D

why don't you ask on the forum?
