The owner manual of my 2020 2.3 Ducato says the idle speed can be adjusted using the cruise control stalk. Has anyone managed this? I would love to change mine by even 50 rpm as there is a very annoying vibration at the current set idle speed.

I suspect that is a clumsy translation..
(My favourite was
'avoid march accelerations')

What idle speeds do you see.. hot vs cold

I'm not sure why you are asking if anyone has managed this? The manual is clear on the method and conditions that have to be met to activate the idle speed adjustment. It also states that the facility is only available on certain versions and in certain markets.

So is your van fitted with the function? Have you followed the instructions in the handbook? Does it work?

If so, you have answered your own question.

Note that it doesn't alter the default idle speed that the engine will run at every time the throttle is release and/or you are at a halt in traffic. The intended value has to be stored, and activated every time you want to set that idle speed by pressing the button on the cruise control stalk. It will only apply if the handbrake is set, the clutch is fully released or automatic transmission is in park, the brake pedal is released and the vehicle is completely stationary.

The set idle speed will be cancelled if you release the handbrake, depress the brake pedal or clutch, move the automatic transmission out of park, or otherwise allow the vehicle to move. Next time you stop, you have to meet all of the above conditions to be able to activate it again (by depressing the button on the cruise control stalk if you have stored a pre-set value, or by going through the entire procedure again from the start).

It is intended to allow the driver to raise the idle speed when the vehicle is stationary and powering equipment with high load take off, such as auxiliary power generation and booster heating, etc.

Thank you. Assuming you are right this is a pretty useless function.

I don't have a van that is fitted with the facility, but have repeated what is written in the driver's handbook in plain english. It's not a useless function for someone operating a works van, ice cream van or another vehicle fitted with auxiliary equipment that needs to receive sufficient power or charging current to operate effectively whilst stationary, which is what it's intended for.

Normal engine idle speeds under driving conditions tend to be controlled by the engine ECU on modern vehicles and are usually incapable of being altered as it would adversely affect the emissions under which the vehicle has been type approved.

So it doesnt function on your Ducato..??

No. But even if it did, it won't help with my problem. I hoped it would put a continuous offset on the idle speed. The manual gives no indication of the purpose of this function nor which markets it works in.

The current version can be downloaded from https://aftersales.fiat.com/elum/ if your handbook is incomplete. It indicates what the function is intended for, how to activate it and under what conditions it will be automatically disabled.
