Active sub and 6x9's

Hi, I have some 6x9's in my parcel shelf hooked up to an amp.
I have just bought an ACTIVE Sub, can I have these both together in the car? As in, speakers with amp I have already, and the sub powering itself?
What is the best way to install this setup?

Sorry im not sure what you mean.
I would sell the 6x9's and get some components amped up up front. The mid and treble up front, lows in the back.

I mean, keeping the 6x9's as they are, with the amp I have. Then putting in the active sub and powering that up too. splitting the speaker wires/or extending them to the sub.
I have nowhere to put front speakers in me old punto.

Im still not with you. Are you using the standard head unit then.

yep, headunit to amp , to 6x9's.
I want to put in my active sub and want to know how.
Do I take the audio from the amp to the sub , or install seperately.
the amp has a amplifier built in and want to know how to wire it all up.

Yeah you should be fine with the Amps RCA output into your active one.

one more thing, which way should you point the speaker?

If looking in the boot do you point it to the front or facing you?
Or does it not matter ?
