General abs

hi ppl my ullusse the abs light is on all the time but there is no power to the abs unit and its sending me crackers, so anyone with any gud help and ideas wud be gratful

Have you checked the fuses? There are two, both in the under bonnet box - at lower right a 10 amp one, (fuse 3) and a "maxi fuse" - 50 amps.

From the info you have supplied it is virtually impossible to offer much help. You need a diagnostic readout from your car using Peugeot Planet2000/Citroen Lexia or similar diagnostic system. If you give your location, there may be someone on this forum who could help.

For what it's worth, most ABS problems arise due to faulty wheel sensors but, without a diagnostic readout, there is no way of knowing which one is faulty.

There are many reasons why your engine management light may come on and, again, a diagnostic readout of fault codes is the only way to narrow it down to a particular problem.

If you have a laptop PC running Windows XP one of these interfaces will enable you to read/clear fault codes on your car and many other functions which usually require a visit to a dealer:

Agreed, most faults come from the sensor at each wheel. Sometimes simply removing them and cleaning them help though I have never tried it on a Ulysse as I've never had any problems yet.

ok pal fair enuf we bought the car but its a citroen c8 and sum1 has put a 8valve engine in so i guess its a missmass..

A common fault with the sensors on the front is that the wires rub on the driveshafts and cause a short which will show up on the dashboard!

What spec is your Ulysse, Prestigio or Eleganza?

its a citroen c8 and its ad a fiat ullusse engine put in and its the 8valve engine as well so better than the 16valve which breaksdown more than the 8valve and weve ad enuf of it
its a 54plate and start and drives wi 12month mot as well but weve ad enuf of it so any offers over 800 wud be acceptable

the car is a citroen c8 on a 54plate and its ad a ullusse engine put in and its the 8valve version alot better than the 16valves which break down more but the car runs sweet as a nut but there is abs light on dash and a airbag light on aswell its got a 11month mot as well, problem was i went into hospital to av a new knee replaced and wen i came out after a few months rest i went to start the car and the battery was flat,then charged battery up and when it stated up the lights ive sed was on,so am tryin to sell it cos ant got money to throw at it so i wud be happy with a £1000 or bit less ,ive just ad enuf of it so if u no anybody askin for me wud be apprciated ok pal
