Yes.. That's one of them. There's one on each of the four hubs to measure individual wheel speed. The sensor is known to seize in the the hub carrier, and is easily broken.

You'll need an Allen key or hexagon adaptor to remove the retaining bolt, I think it's 5mm. Then flood it with penetrating oil and use a 14mm spanner to gently rotate the sensor back and forth until it frees, and can be levered out. Each time it moves, put more penetrating oil into it.

Yep. You can garantee it'll be well crusted in there but they will come. The technique described does work well, have done it myself. The key is using a whole heap of penetrating fluid and I also used a really small pry bar underneath once it got moving to lever it up as it wriggled.

Once you've got it 5-10mm it should more or less just pop out.

They are just totally plastic though so you have to be a bit delicate so you don't break it and end up having to try and fish bits of plastic out of the hub.
 
Thanks for this, guys. Yes managed to get it out without trashing it, method exactly per the good advice given here...... strangely rewarding experience for such a minor thing.........
