How on earth do you tell which sensor you need when there are so many? Even the guy at partco said there are a few options.... :eek:
If a parts company don't know, how am I supposed to figure it out?
Even Epar is baffled and according to my vin there's no abs sensor showing (although I may be looking at it wrong).
Any ideas?

On eper, all but one of the possible parts should be greyed out if you've searched using your VIN. Are you seeing more than one part number left in black type?

Alternatively, just give your local Fiat dealer a call and quote your VIN. Worm the part number out of them when they quote you a price - that gives you a target price and the info you need to get a price elsewhere.

devious look at each wheel for a wire,if there is then it has abs,wonder if dirt got in there between the sensor:)

In what section? Cos I could see Nowt for braking.... prob just being thick...

Dirtyhands, I don't think it is. ECU states front near side abs sensor fail.

Try:

Spare Parts > Fiat > (enter VIN number in box on LHS and click the magnifying glass) > Next > 331 BRAKES > 33102 BRAKE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM (3) >> 33102/3 (click the grey square with that text in - it doesn't look like a button, but it is)

Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click page 6/6. That brings up the ABS sensor layout. Part numbers are on the right.

ANT = anterior (i.e. front)
POST = posterior (rear)
SN = sinistre (left)
DS = destre (right)

eper is a bit clunky, but there's a lot of information in there, especially if you use your VIN.

And once you've the fiat part number it's worth looking got it on intermotor car parts. This will identify other manufacturers equivalent part number which you can then search eBay or the likes for a cheaper alternative.
50 quid for a proximity switch is taking the pee wee just a wee wee
Marty.

It surprised me that they didn't properly armour the lead, that's what the fault is.
Shocking really....
Ta for the advice, ill match the parts and see what comes up.
