There have been a few posts here recently about which cars have ABS, so I thought I'd attempt to settle it.
Fitted as standard on : all HGTs, 1.8/115 HLXs
Optional on : all S, all SX, 100/JTD HLXs
Still not convinced? Here are 3 ways to check if it has ABS:
1. When you start up your car, an ABS light will appear temporarily next to the handbrake warning.
2. Try it, get up some speed (50-60) and slam on your brakes - the pedal will 'pump'. I actually found it hard to get this way to work. I did it accidently when I had to quickly turn off a dual carraigeway into a crappy road.
3. The real reason for the post. The picture below is from my 115. Behind the air intake is a metal box with various wires/metal rods - this is the ABS unit!
