Technical Abarth Selespeed problem

My gearbox is playing up.

This is what's happening.

Driving or accelerating.. and an error messages comes up.

"Gearbox failure, return to dealer"

This happens eighter whils driving on 5 th gear @ high speed or on lower speed when changing gears.

Sometimes the error message disappears automaticly, or I have to stop, change to manual, switch off the engine and restart on manual.. change gears in manual to 2 nd gear and the error disappears.

It's not all the times it happens.. sometimes about 15 times a day and then it can work perfectly for weeks.

I've had the car in for service at an Alfa dealer here in Sweden and they have reset the "errormessages" in the computer but it's still playing up.

One prob here in Sweden is that the Abarth was never sold here and the Fiat dealership here is almost very limited.. so there is no knowledge of the Abarth.

Someone who can enlight me of the Selespeed prob?

It sounds like it could be a similar problem to what I had with my Selespeed. I started not being able to select first, and then later, third and then later, fifth and then later... all of the odd gears. It got to the point where I couldn't select any odd gears and guess what, the odd gear engagement sensor was failing. Not an expensive part but it takes a couple of hours to fit. Out of interest, did the garage tell you what the error codes were before they erased them? That would at least tell you what's failing...

hei how long have you your battery from the car fitted i think can be the problem also go check your battery i have also a abarth with selespeed and a couple weeks later he was givin me error engines problems and problems with selespeed changing gear jumping to neutral.........and my problem was the battery was out of date and need a new one...and than all problems are solved u can just check your battery takes five minutes...and u will know when the battery is almost done the computer board gives false errors and afect selespeed......and also check for cables electric cables some them with time will need to be sealed again to protect from humidity u can also affect the selesspeed........bye and good look with your scorpion..long life.
