Might it be an idea to add an extra option to the 'Donations' page - namely a recurring subscription ?

With that some of us could send a small amount on a regular basis to help with covering costs.

You would then know that you have a certain amount of funds incoming every month.

FFFFSSSSS I frigging give in :bang: :bang: :bang:

If you had read my posts you will see that you do NOT have pay monthly, ALL I have done is offer another option for a donation

Jeeeeeezzzzzzzz :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

As previously pointed out I am nothing to do with the running of this site, and therefore have NO say on how the site is funded.

I used the word 'subscription' as that is what Paypal calls it's mechanism for collecting regular payments.

So to get this perfectly clear my suggestion is an extra option on the donations page to sign up to regular payments as opposed to a one off payment - is that clear enough ?

Trev - off to wait have to explain this again :bang:

maybe should make this a sticky, then nobody will read it :p

I'll compromise with you oh yellow desert sauce :D

Can we stick a shed load of flashing neons on it to point out it's a suggestion for voluntary payments for the more myopic of our members.

Does sire have any other suggestions ?

if i had to pay monthly id might as well join club cento lol but i dont agree with the way they work. at the end of the day this forum would be nothing without us (obviously)
I think the only way it will work is to rely on donations and adds as it does now.

You don't pay to join your MC then Craig? That's what Clubcento is. A motor car club. The forum is a secondary part of it, not the primary part like FF.

Just so I understand you Trev, do you mean a voluntary monthly subscription of £X per month like some charities operate?

Spot on, at present the donations work on a 'one off' basis, my suggestion is a 'set and forget' basis totally voluntary, if you don't want to use the option you don't, no one is going to take away privileges, batter you with a wet haddock, or skin you alive (theres a couple who have responded to this thread that need the last two but that's besides the point ).

If we end up with some folk paying monthly then there's income trickling through on a constant basis to avoid issues like the one reported below:

good - the forum is that skint i cant order any more stickers until we get some cash to buy them :(

Trev - anyone got a spare wet haddock

He doesn't mean a subscription!

All he is saying is that instead of donating a single amount via Paypal, you can set it up to donate a regular amount each month, using the paypal 'subscription' tool.

Err...Stu? That's what I mean! :ROFLMAO:

If he doesn't mean a subscription, then why is the Paypal tool called a subscription tool? :p

That's a better way of saying what I mean't, trouble is, to some here anyone would think I have suggested they have to hand over their wages every month or they won't be allowed onto the site :bang:

Aye, I can see it working but I get the feeling that people might want something unique in return e.g. a user title like 'FF Subscriber' for example.
