Styling A Pillar Vinyl?

Hello,

The A pillar vinyl on my Sporting is a bit cracked and crap. Both sides look tired and I would like to replace.

Question is, what is underneath it? Is it properly painted metal? Can I strip the vinyl off and polish up the paint underneath and just leave it?

If I do decide to re vinyl, can you still buy the original pre-cut replacements from Fiat?

i believe you can still get them from fiat. i think there £7 each

Will strip the old stuff off first and clean it up. See what I think without vinyl first!

loads of people have removed them as a mod, i hate the look with out them, i have new set in my bedroom but not sure if they mk1 or mk2, find out part number you need an i see if it matches the box

Yeah I probs wont leave them vinyless tbh. Will ruin the flow of the windows around the car.

Still, need to strip the old brittle stuff off and clean it up anyway before I can apply anything new. TBH I may just get a black sunstrip from ebay for a couple of quid and do it that way

Yes this works. I've used black vinyl intended for sunstrips and can confirm it works well.
I keep a spare Fiat pillar sticker which I use as a template for cutting the vinyl!

I have found though that after several years use, the vinyl rips around the bottom, where the window forces the rubber seal to move downwards.

I can only assume you all mean the b-pillar not the a-pillar..?
