ok, i am going to book it back into the dealers again about the second gear as its whinning louder now and still lumpy changing into it, and sometimes grinding although clutch is in.

now i have noticed a new noise, a kind of rubbing sound the picks up with engine speed, (doesnt have to be moving forward to make it). it is on a rotation and @1500rpm its makes the noise 3 times per second, and is evenly spaced, always 3 times a second. thats 180 times a minute at 1500 rpm. the plastic engine cover vibrates a fair bit on tick over, but the engin block look solid, although a vibration can be felt pre mount, but not post mount

im worried the flywheel is fubard b ut everything i see referencing knackered flywheels in on big v8 fords or the car has other symptoms

are they related? anyone think flywheel issue?

why should he have bought a diesel?

T-jets far out run any diesel Bravo's... and also, diesels sound like tractors anyway.

leave diesel for vans... =\

lol what a silly comment!! clearly dont know what new diesels are like or u just refuse to admit it!

completely false, but even if it was true, I don't give a rat's butt about the emissons of my car.

just one average factory releases more emissions in one minute than you'll release with the most poluting car your whole life so spare me this new bull**** trend of talking emissions.

if you had a degree in statistics, you'd know how ridiculous the whole emissions talk is.

even with all the cars in the world, they acount only for a tiny little part of dangerous emission and CO2 released in the athmosphere.

it basicly makes little to no difference to mother nature if you drive a hummer or walk. even cows polute more than cars with the toxic gases in their poo, did we stop eating cows? no.

don't just believe the crap you hear in the news and follow the eco trend like an idiot. their goal is to sell new cars and make new taxes for the old ones (so you'll buy a new car), it won't even get close to saving the athmosphere of this planet.

There are too many people on this planet. But we never hear the N-viro-mentals mention it.

By the way, the lad's right about diesel noise on start up. The new JTD series is really tractor like on tickover. That's your Euro 5 for you.

If you want a quiet motor it has to be a petrol, and the turbo quietens it even more.

My gripe is about ROAD NOISE. When will Fiat get around to fitting decent soundproofing ?
