I did my sound deadening install this weekend, i used 90ft of eDead and did the whole car!, roof, door panels, rear panels, wheel arches, wheel well, the whole floor and all the pillars.

Took us two days and the GP is rather easy to take apart and put back together, apart from the clips on the rear panel, they are a nightmare. The eDead is soo easy to apply, and i can't see that any of it is going to fall off, i couldn't remove pieces that i'd done wrong once they were flattened down.

I'm really impressed with the result, the drive back from my mates this weekend over the m62 was near silent! the only noise i can hear now is the wind rushing past, also the sound quality is amazing, i know a lot of people bash eDead but it certainly does the job!

A happy customer

If you have deadened the doors then can you punch them ;). That is the difference.
Thats not to say that e dead doesnt do anything and you got it for free so there is no blaming you for using it.

A dent in the door panel lol. I have used just one layer of the other stuff and i can give the door quite a wallop. Obviously i havent tried a running full arm swing and break your knuckles typw punch but enough to know that it is pretty solid and make random people cringe by taking my fist to a car with near perfect body work.
Edit:- I love that statement in your cig i have a feeling we are going to get along with strokes of genius like that.

right lol i get your point now

thanx for the comment about the sig, there's nothing i hate more than explaining to people WHY i spend money, and even more time with my car, and why its worth it

well i probably won't be able to do that now and i certainly don't want to try lol, but my long term plan is to upgrade the speakers and amp them up witha 4 channel, i'll probably do a 3rd layer of dampening then, at the minute the difference is superb! i'm just starting my research into speakers now, anything in particular you think i should be looking at, i'm going for pure quality rather than volume and going to be looking at spending about £500-£600 on replacement speakers and a 4 channel amp

I can get a set of Morel Elate mid woofers second hand the same as what i have for £160 i still might have them myself but they are the dogs danglies. I cant see how you would want anything better, great SQ but fookin loud :p
I spose i could reluctantly put you in contact with the guy.
Amp wise to run them atm i am using an Elemental designs 200w RMS x2 and the one that is actually working absolutely loves it. I havnt seen another one the same as what i have now the newer ones only seem to be 100w RMS x2
I may be looking at geting a couple of DLS A5's so the ED amp may be up for sale too.

nice one mate, i'm not looking to purchase anything for at least 6 months or so, so go have them yourself (y)

i'm just gonna do loads of reading i think will probs make my decision nearer the time, any recomendations for a 4 channel amp?

Well i am really starting to like you mate. Reading that is the best thing that you can do. As i think of some i will post up some decent recommendations.

Budget? New or used? There's load of choice depending on what you really need.

what is it with people only reading half a thread? second one in a few hours!;)

i'm going to be looking at about £600-£800, two sets of components and a 4 channel amp, looking for sound quality rather than volume,

any recommendations welcome, but please advise why your recomending it or otherwise its no use to me (y)

to stu, :worship: nice one i'll post some up once i've got a few that sound good to me and i can go from there

Is it actually pure SQ that you want or would you like some nice punch in there too. This will more relate to your sub, how does your current sub sound to you, would it be better at the same volume just with better SQ or would you prefer the bass to be more ambient and quiter.
Im just trying to gain a bit of knowledge into your taste as even two very similar speakers will have very different qualities.
Your best bet would be to get to have a listen to different setup's, in cars is important too.

IMO i would just be looking into just doing the fronts with that budget as who cares about the odd occasion that people are in the rear and you most likely will want to talk to them not have music blaring out.

So look into.

Genesis, focal, DLS, Morel, Hertz, Diamond and Audison for a start, oh and the Rainbow I.paul.

i'm wanting to go for pure SQ, with the fronts and then when it comes to replacing the sub i'll think about that then

i'm not a high volume kinda guy and i like my creeping bass rather than kicking so they don't need a punch to them

i take your point about the rears, f**k the free loaders:p

and i'd be able to go with a much better amp with a 2 channel as well?

i'm also thinking about how i'm going to connect the new amp, as i'm running a high power Phono to the back for my sub at the minute but don't know if this will be good enough for the new amp, and i want to keep my head unit

Ah some people havnt quite grasped the concept of having to stealth post at work lol. Im always being tld off for not reading the whole thread.

Anyway Paul do you know anybody in Bolton area that this guy can go see and listen. ATM i am geting the impression of the likes of CDT and ID max etc etc but i am kind of guessing that there is a bit of understanding on his part as to what SQ is :yuck:
