My dad's C5 (2008 new shape) has done 28k and today developed a problem on the way home from work.
The car also lost alot of coolant but not it all completely. There was still about an inch in the bottom of the coolant tank but it was well below the miniumum amount.
The engine temp got high although never reached the point where the car told him to pull over and stop. It sat just below the red line and as soon as it hit the red line he pulled over and stopped.
From the exhaust he said that when he first started it up what seemed like steam came from the exhaust but after a few seconds it stopped and it idled normally with no steam, however, at times when driving it was slightly sluggish at low revs in 1st and 2nd gear.
He had just down a 100 mile round trip on the motorway and this started after he had got to his office and had the engine off for about 15mins. When he started it up again it started all this.
It's currently sitting in a public car park near his office and Citroen aren't open unitl the morning.
Any ideas what it could be? It is under warrenty so it should be a warrently job.
