Now i know this has probably been done to death, but the search feature is pretty vague.
What tyres can i fit on standard sporting rims.
I dont need a performance tyre really and i am looking for more choice than p,s and nankings.

But what i mean is the idiot guide to tyre choice.
IE if you dont want ps or nanks this other size will fit giving greater choice and availability....

Is this subject worth an insert into the F(requently)A(sked)Q(uestions)?

I did mostly my own work spending ages on here & using links I'd found here but maybe if somebody has an idea how do to a reasonable FAQ it'd save newcomers a lot of hassle (admittedly I'm not volunteering)!!!

Normal - 165/55/R13, Choice - 175/50/R13

I have seen - 185/60/R13

thats what i wanted.
With 165/55/r13 you are pretty limited.
The tyre fitters i have used for years on my Alfa,s and the beloveds Fiats were puzzled by that size when i got the wheels balenced.
