Two mates were bored, they had clean cars, a mobile phone cam and a sunny day to take some photos of a Clio 182 Cup and a Fabia vRS.

Im well impressed with the picture quality- these SE cameras are great in the sun with auto focus off...

So if you're bothered, go ahead and take a look :) (Dave- its best if you click Back now ;) and Paul stop drooling over the Renault, get a tissue)

I do like the VAG brilliant red, one of my all time fav colours!! And best thing is with a bit of wax every few months it'll stay red forever unlike most vauxhauls, fiats, fords, BM's. If anything it might darken down a bit but you can't notice it!!

Oddly enough those pics were taken in one of the nicer looking parts of Blackpool too :D

The VRS just shows how crap the Clio really is, english folks won't get this next saying but for Scottish viewers Liam says

"Mon the Skodas!"

Liam

Have I read Dave's post right and that he sort of complemented my car  :D

The Clio would **** all over the standard vRS 0-60. I think mine would give it a good challenge from 30-60 if I planted it in 3rd though ;) (We havnt really had a proper 'challenge' yet)

Looks- I reckon the Clio's nicer overall. Some angles of mine look a bit :yuck: Suppose its the 5 doors that spoil it. The Skodas alot more refined though with only a couple of rattles to the Renaults 50 lol.

Are you all mad Liam, the Clio 172/182s are a class apart, tho I have only driven a 172 and a 172 Cup they are easily up with THE best small cars of all time, tho tellingly my mate Scott with the metallic blue (best colour IMHO) 172Cup says he still prefers his original metallic blue MK1 Clio 16V and would sell the Cup for a clean low millage Williams which considering he lives in Guernsey means any Williams that comes up for sale, as his 1994 16V has 45K on the clock, all at Guernsey speed limits of 35mph :)

When the time comes to sell the turbo Cinq and buy something else to run around in while the 'grale resides in the garage for sunny days the Clio is top of my list, tho could be tempted by the BB Performance turbo conversion as thats blistering, 250bhp and over 250lbs.ft torque, sub 5secs to 60mph over 160mph http://www.bbperformancetuning.co.uk/articles/article.asp?id=31

And as for VAG paint not fading, complete nonsense, my mate had a late MK3 Golf GTi which he studiously cleaned and polished every week and it faded really badly bonnet and roof going very pink and its not exactly the sunniest place in the world Motherwell in Scotland, yet i know of many older red Pug 106 Rallye MK1s that have never faded.
