I just hate **** servce, particularly when it cost me £60 quid in fuel and £50 in 2x insurance admin changes.
Thanks (NOT) Hilton Garage Derby

Today I drove 120 X 2 each way ...... miles from Harrogate to Derby to pick up my (minter) 7000 miles car, Qubo, Bipper, Nemo, (ok it’s a Bipper but I love Fiats and Italy and Italian cars and I know you do also), so I might just save you a wasted trip to a car supermarket in Derby. Please please please....................never use Hilton garage in Hilton Derby. They lied to me…………they may lie to you as well.
It’s not even funny, I paid a £500 deposit for what I was promised on the phone by sales Manager Ian, for a scratch, crash and repair free Bipper. I took one look at it from 10 feet away and that was enough to understand the business model of this place.
Now, please understand this, I know very well that a 4 year old car may have a dent or knock, I’m not stupid……. But I don't buy them, and I ask a vendor to describe a car honestly. (So I don’t end up looking at dogs) I also know that not every 3 or 4 year old car is a dog so I took a chance on trust and paid them £500.00 deposit for what was promised to be a car with no bodywork faults. Look at their website, 40 years of trust???? Then look at the pics…….. 2 (two) of them, Ian and Lewis claimed to have looked at the car and proclaimed it to be devoid of ANY defect.
It was/is a total shed, red paint on the black bumper near-side like something out of a kids college class "how to bodge a car for a quick sale to a blind idiot". Paint on the other side in the driver’s sill area (all on video as Lewis who stars in the vid will confirm) …………(thanks) …and all over the door seal that the helpful salesman (Lewis) thought may not be overspray but from the factory (yes really) because we all know that cars are totally finished and then sprayed as an afterthought................ !!!!!Sadly, I don’t think he was making this up, he probably really believed what he was saying.
Did I say, I won’ be recommending them?

I'd be asking to cover travel costs at least, the insurance admin isn't their fault really TBH though, that is set by your insurer, and I know mine don't charge that. I personally always wait until collection to insurer a new vehicle, for this specific reason, and because you shouldn't be insuring something until you own it really.

Still disappointing about their poor level of customer service though (n)

Trouble is, most sites like that source their stock from auction. Why are they at auction? usually because main dealers consider them too poor to retail or they have an ongoing problem. Solution? Buy private, there's no way i'll ever give a trader profit.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

I can say though I bought my Grande Punto t-jet in Orange from here about 18 months ago and it was absolutely pristine and serviced the day I picked it up. They even let me take it for an hour before buying so I could test drive. Personally I couldn't fault them, although it was a cash sale.

Dude ive worked in a car factory for ten years and no cars ever leave the factory in that condition, contact the factory and report the the dealer. All else fails contact Ester ransten lol.

My partners sons girlfriend bought her C1 from them and has had no problems from them or the car since. I have looked round there in the past and test driven a few cars, to see what the model is like and have had no problems with there service.

I can't comment on the service you got from them, but that's not good trying it on like that.

Exactly, most dealers will spend a max of £200-350 on a car then make it look shiny and thats it. I only buy private and use the saved money to get the car up to 'my standard'.

It's 4 years old.
