Just picked up a Soleil (there's another thread going about my "roof grief") but anyway, main problem was a blown ring, causing it to burn oil.

I've picked up a replacement engine from the classifieds on here, apparently it's runs OK, but has 91k on the clock..

I intend to drop it in, with new filters etc, is there anything else I need to be aware of on an engine of this mileage?

Cheers

General wear and tear/abuse. For the cost of a head set it might be worth popping the top off to check all is well.

The lack of a cambelt is a winner on these engines because Im yet to hear of the oil pump seizing on them / chain snapping.

IME theyre good and robust given good care.

Cheers guys - about to go and do the rest of it.. (the gear linkage bracket's a an absolute bugger to shift..)

Luckily the engine I bought came complete with Alternator, Throttle Body, Coil pack etc, so that'll save me some time..

Thanks again

Kieran
