This is due to my silly mistake

History

I have found that my fuel filter was installed the wrong way round and driven for about 300miles, then so i turn it round and fitted it back on. (This obviously, force all the crap from the fuel filter to my throttle body)

What i done

1 )I'll take then fuel filter off and fitted it the wrong way round again and flushed it with redex. After this the car did start, but was going really really slow ...

2) changed the injectors ... now the car no longer starts ..

What i have been recommended

Get new fuel filter (shall order one tomorrow)

May be the car is flooded with petrol ? If so how i do cure this?

Any other recommendation would be great!!!!!

Thanks
Ming

if its flooded with petrol then take the plugs out and clean them and while the plugs are out turn the engine over a few times to help get the excess vapour out 9making sure the H/T leeds are well out of the way and insulated!!! :)

oko, point taking, first thing in my list tomorrow morning, any other suggestion welcomed!!!

it might be a good idea to flush out the fuel pipe upto the throttle body when fitted the new fuel filter before fitting the new injector preferably ;)
because if there was any rubbish in the line it may just get dragged straight into the new injector once again,

hope the advise as helped mate (y)

Anything helps, when u r me at the moment ... fix the handbrake, then this happens ..... a right downer.. and with 10 sore fingers from fitting those rear shoe springs...

seems like the injector is working fine .. with loads of fuel coming out, but i will flush the fuel line, when i get the new filter,,,

yes i no how you feel haha, i am a mechanic so coming home with sore fingers after a day of problem'd cars is somthing im use to.
labour of love with the cinqs though :D

oko, got my bro to get up :D,

Found that 2 plugs wasn't sparking so put on 2 old leads and it started, but is still not running right ...

could this be the ht leads that is casuing the problem ??

Thanks
Ming

hmm ... change the coil pack, it was cylinder 3 and 4 that had no sparks, change the leads then we could see the spark

So got new plugs and leads for 13 quid :D halford trade cards save alot of money

NGK plug, 5.75 Bosch leads 7.77 :), just hope it solves the problem1!!!!!

thanks

i would check that there a strong flow of fuel to the T.B again? you may still have some crap in the pipe, to check take the fuel pipe to the T.B off and turn the ignition key and fuel should squirt out plus as i said it will clear out any crap you have .
Then check to see if there is a strong spark at each plug again. were did you get the other injector from????

oh dear :(

new plugs and leads, the car still struggle to get above 20 mph in second gear ..

and there seems to be a strong petrol smell coming out the exahust ?

Any ideaS?

Thanks
Ming

Sounds like it ain't firing on all 4. Start it up, run it for a bit, check the plugs. The one(s) it's not firing on will be wet with petrol. Depending on what cylinder(s) are not firing a diagnosis can be made..........

cylinder 2 is wet, the rest is dry

hmm i noticed that one of the plug that plugs into coil 2 &3 the clip that hold it in tight i broken ... Would that causes the problem ?

I am away to see if i change the coil packs for 2 and £ see if that helps..

thanks

Looks like it is just missing on 2. The broken clip might be an issue, although you'd expect 3 to be affected as well.

Might be worth popping to a scrappy and getting another connector.
