Hi all

Could anyone tell me if its worth putting a 866 cam in a seicento 1108 mpi as i have one laying around i know it a good upgrade in the spi just want to know if its the same for the mpi

In my Cinq (so spi) the 866 cam alone did not make any noticeable difference.
 
Makes quite a difference in the way the engine responds.

I have a standard MPI and one with the 866 cam (+ ported/high comp head and peco system).
The standard one pulls strong at 2 to 3k with a steady increase in power to 5.5k.

With 866 cam. The pull off seems more laboured but smoother up to 3k then starts to pull quite strong untill 4k. That's when the power starts. It really kicks in at 5k and starts to tail off at 5700.
You notice the power most in the top 3 gears. 3rd to 4th is the best.
The standard air box does make the power die now and again due to heat soak at low speeds so better filtration is a must.

Has anyone ever actually measured and compared the 1108 seicento cam and the 0866 cam lift and duration?

If so what are the differences?


Regarding the cam timing of the seic vs 0865 cams:

Are the camsprocket location the same on all cams?
or/and
do all camwheels have the same cam sprocket location holes?

Needs to be coupled with a vernier pulley to make a difference in either case. Will make a difference when set up properly. Dan

Why do You need an adjustable camwheel to adjust the cams if the both cam dowel/cam wheels are identical on both engines?

as far as im aware it allows you to advance the cam timing in the engine 10 degree to let out even more ponies. i tihnk you could do this with the standard cam but the gains wouldnt be as big.

as far as im aware i could be wrong
 
i would like to improve the performance would a cam, induction kit and air filter will it be noticeably quicker
