6x9's and sub wired to standard head unit

Would it be possible to wire a sub with amp and some 6x9's up to the standard head unit? If it helps it's the satnav with cd and multi changer? I'm not to clever with technical terms so simple language please

Yes.

you need a line out convertor to be able to connect the amp

personally i would avoid 6x9's because of the shape of the cones they seem to distort too easily, something to replace the rear shelf speakers

sat nav head unit tends to have problems with duff screens

The sat nav works fine on mine, got just a couple of vertical lines missing on it that's all, it's not to much of a problem.
So as for wiring the sub I take it I can't use the wires for the standard 100w sub?

No you'll need to run a positive from the battery and ground to somewhere in the boot.
Switched live from the head unit.

You need to basically get an amp wiring kit which is appropriate for the size/power of amplifier you choose

Ok cheers, as for 6x9's can I cut into the wire for the rear speakers an join them up again after?

Use RCA cables to connect the amp to the headunit then connect the 6x9's to the amp.

There is no RCA out on the Head Unit, that is why you would need a Line level converter or an Amp that has line level inputs.
All that is a lot of effort though for a Punto. I would just put an aftermarket one in.
