Just posting to do a wee bit of brainpicking.
It's the old mans car and for the last 2-3 weeks he's had an intermittent issue with his O2 sensors throwing up engine fault warnings on the dash without any loss of power.
He's been to LC motors 2 maybe 3 times to get this looked at. Had a new sensor fitted (which one I don't know) clearing the issue for a couple of days.
He doesn't know the specifics of the diagnosis and as such I've just been coming up with my own ideas as to what it could be over the last week.

My main fear is that the engine is starting to give up the ghost after a good old thrashing over 105k miles! (Fyi he's still on his 2nd clutch :p) Could engine wear be leading to the combustion going pete tong?
It also occurred to me that we don't know whether the sensor was returning a zero reading (In which case it's a duff sensor) or something too low or maybe just something plain old batsh*t crazy high.

It has in the past suffered from the oil pressure dropping when turning sharply. It was sorted pretty sharpish about 4 years ago. While I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the current problem I just can't help but wonder..

Any thoughts gents?
