Hi all

We are about to purchase a Fiat 500e icon at the moment for around £12.5-13k. I know that when the icon was new you could option things like pan roof and also the LED headlights. The car we are looking at has the standard non LED lights but I was wondering if I get hold of a set of LED units are they plug and play compatible with the car? I know it's a minor detail but I do really think the LED's look better and will give better lighting performance.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome. Some say you can just plug in, but I've not heard anyone that has. From previous experience of Fiat and other modern cars I would be VERY surprised if the headlights do not need coding to the car using either dealer or, very expensive, 3rd party garage software. As the lights are expensive it's a big risk as even finding someone to do the coding will be hard. There are plenty of used cars out there I'd look for a La Prima as the halogen lights aren't very good.

We had considered the La Prima but didn't know if they would be worth the extra few £k's to buy one. It seemed the biggest difference was cosmetic. The other thing that put me off the La Prima is they all seem to be white leather which I'd be worried about staining with it being used by us as a second family car.

Depending on the age of the car (I'm thinking when I got my Icon in May 22) there are a lot of spec differences and the colours tend to be nicer. I get what you mean about the interior but there are plenty of nice covers you could use.
