Hey,

I'm looking to upgrade the exhaust on my 500 Pop, not sure whether to change the tip with the official Fiat one for £90 for the cosmetic change or change the whole thing?

Nothing that will break the bank but something that looks decent!

Thanks

James

Few threads on here of nice replacement back boxs for around £200. Personally I wouldn't pay £90 to mimick the non Pop model. Can you not get a simple push on sleeve for around £20 ? Realise that it will be round as opposed to oval but only Fiat heads would spot the difference.
If you go for a cat back stainless steel jobbie it will give little if no performance gain on a 1.2. Plus the insurance guys will slap you will an extra premium unless you get a letter from the custom exhaust supplier that there is no gain in bhp.

I put a Magneti Marelli rear box on my 1.2 and I think it actually made it slower. Sounded awful too. Sort of agricultural tractor type sound and not at all sporty. Changed it back to stock as quick as I could.

That's strange, I have the opposite opinion and experience with MM back box on 1.2!

I'm in a similar situation. My 1.4 Sport rear box will need replaced soon - it's corroded but not blowing... yet! I fitted a K&N panel filter and wonder if there's an upgrade back box that will yield a small gain either in looks, sound or performance, that won't cost hundreds.

Any recommendations gratefully received!
