If they make it a Roadster the luggage space will probably be better than the Hatchback. If they follow the Beetle/MINI and make it a Cabriolet it shouldn't be much less. If they try to make it a CC it will be non-existent.
Can you imagine how many folds a CC would have to do to get it down behind where the parcel shelf sits. Roof panel would have to be made of loads of slats instead of a full panel.

Agree. However, if it is going to be a CC, I'm not sure about handling as it will be a bit top heavy given 500 is quite tall.
If I do get a convertible or anything with a folding fabric roof, my main need is that it has a glass backlight, with decent resistance against leaks another need.
