Yes, it does look quite impressive underneath I must say. Great little car. Am well impressed.

I too thought so when choosing my Panda, having test-driven a 4x4 TA I
ordered the Trekking TA as I never anticipate needing full off-road capabilities!

However, the Trekking's got lots of spare space underneath, due to the
lack of the driven rear axle. It's a pity the fuel tank couldn't have been
enlarged, as 35 litres is a bit of a range-limiter :(

Not too serious as mine's now reached 4700 miles and is averaging 55mpg :)

Thanks for your interesting account (y)

Two winters ago Mrs b_u wrote off her Panda MJ - which she was very fond of - in the ice and snow on the northern slopes of Dartmoor; three winters ago and two winters ago I couldn't get the 100HP up the slope of our drive for two-three weeks because the sun doesn't shine on the surface, or on the surface of the unadopted road past our house - so, apart from providing a refreshing, new motoring experience the full 4x4 seemed like a logical choice. It also means we can go to places in central Italy that are inaccessible except in a 4x4, or by a lengthy trek, which I won't be back to doing for some time.
