Hi.
I split my panda 4x4 (319) propshaft to replace the centre bearing (wasn’t too bad actually. I used fox wedges between two bearing pullers and it slid apart with very little hassle.)
I marked alignment, BUT while the shaft has a key spline, but the u joint does not so it could go together any way. The shaft has definitely been apart before and I am pretty sure the previous guy lost the alignment because it vibrated like it was well out of balance but all the joints are fine.
Am I right in thinking there isn’t any sensible way to re-find the original alignment without sending it away to be balanced?
Is it easier for the specialist to balance it if I leave it split or put it back together or does it really make no difference…?
