Technical 4x4 cinq

heya all.

bit of a newbe here but ive got a question for you all i have a 899cc n plate cinq i also have a 4x4 panda in the garage that was trashed by thelocal yobs so my question is would it be possible to put the 4x4 running gear onto my cinq i am also planning to change the engine at a later date.

hi mate. this is a question that gets asked very often,if you have a search you'll find all the info you need.

not easily, no.

if you were, you'd need to change the engine as well (needs to be FIRE to fit the box) but that'd be the least of your hassles. what are you like with a welder, cos you'll need it

The very early panda 4x4 was not actually a fire engine wether it was the same gearbag i don't know

anyway adding the extra weight of the 4x4 running gear to even a 1242 cinq would end up with performance similar to a 899 cinq anyway

as you know the panda 4x4 is only for mud plugging and next to useless on the road

was just interested i shall dispose of the panda i spoke to a fella lastnight tells me that with a bit of fiddling a mg metro turbo engine will fit as they have a simalar sized bay im pretty good with me tools and fancy making the cinq into a little track day toy any ideas what the best thing to do would be i can get a metro engine from a local fella but i would rather use a fiat one i want something with a bit more grunt than a 1.2 and the uno turbos are getting harder to come by so wouldnt want to destroy one.

Get in th panda section and restore the panda. It's not possible to change a 2x4 to 4x4 with pandas, so it'll be a b1tch with a cinq.

DON'T SCRAP A 4X4 PANDA. Their not to common.

Metro engine won't fit either, too tall with the gearbag in the sump, and its only four speed too.

Later kettle engine is to big with the box on.
