The mr2 is mine and in the storage unit at the moment, the coupe is mine, the panda is also mine, as is the other. The 500 abarth is the better halfs.

Evening panda nutters!

Small update, have got around to painting the engine bay and repair of the windscreen, also sorted arches, painted sump guard, wrapped up exposed loom, put a new belt on the engine and droped old oil.

"all" I have left to do is put the engine in now. Photos and vid:

I went to the local automotive paint place and they mixed up some 2pac for me with the correct color code along with some proper matched primer for best "results"

word of warning - you don't screw around with 2pac you spray with a rated full face mask at absolute minimum, I sprayed outside and in chunks so I wasn't about with the spray more than a few mins. I also stuck on a boiler sute... I looked like I was a biohazzard.

Jawel do a non isocyanate 2 pack that can be mixed in any colour - works fine once you get the hang of it but a little temperamental at first.
Much less toxic.

Cool, looks like good progress to me. Engine in is always slower than engine out anyway. Well at least whenever I have done it.

Your night / dusk scene reminds me of this:

There's something satisfying about working into the night...maybe just me though

Anyway, I am sure it'll be driving around tomorrow. (y)

If I had a garage i would probably carry on but as its outside, its windy, and the next door peeps have a small child its not fair for me to be outside swearing :)

I knew this bit was going to be hard :S

Ok, Im more peed off than a very peed off person who got out the wrong side of the bed and then promptly stood on a big poo (have to watch vid)

I cant begin to tell you how easy it makes life when you bag stuff up and label it!

Engine im, it turns over with no plugs. Cant start it as the fuel talk can be likened to a civ

Edit, that vid it out of sequence, I turned it over, then put fuel in it, then went AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH rage

Another busy day with the panda, its amazing how much time silly jobs seem to chew up.
Finding tools even though I sort the box weekly has been a pain, juble clips being a 7 or 6mm spanner..... where did that 13 mm socket go, where is the 13mm ring spanner.

Got the tank changed over, underseald the underside above tank and rail. Pulled old exhaust off and got the new one, well almost!

Getting the tank of it a pain,

1) Get car in the air (if your slim with the 4x4 you can actually do it with out)

2) Remove drivers rear wheel arch linor

3)You should now be able to get to the filler neck of the tank, loosen clip and move filler neck out of the way, you will also have to reach right up to the top and loosen the breather/overfill?) jublie clip on the half inch green hose.

3) Remove the bracket that the handbrake cable and rear brake line run though from the passengers side of the fuel tank, 1x10mm bolt, you will need to do this with a spanner as there it no room for a socket. This then comes free and can be moved over out of the way.

4) The tank is supported by 3x 13mm nuts, one at the rear and two at the front of the tank (towards front of car.
Before removing all the bolts get a couple of axial stands to lower the tank on, you don't want it on the floor yet

5) This is the fun part, to lower the tank you will have to have 3 arms, one to lower the tank, another to pull that green hose though the hole in the rear rail - this will pull down from the filler neck area, and another hand to keep the handbrake cables out of the way.

6) Congratulations, the tank is resting, your arms are about ready to pop and you are quite sure you have spiders in your hair. But! no time to rest, on the top of the tank there are two fuel pipes connected, mark and remove, remove the fuel sender wires.

7) Slide the tank out, have a cup of tea and rest with the knollage its harder to put back on than take off!

did you use my guide? :D

its a little more easy to put it back on. haha for starters you do not run the risk of shearing any bolts off! i do recommend replacing all hose clips with new ones though.

being as you have the tank off, may as well underseal under it as i bet it was not removed to underseal last time.

protect the tank good, they are damn hard to replace!

Hi John ... There was a guide I could have used! Dam it lol. I'll use the search function next time :)

I undersealed the tank area before i put it back on. My nexus crapped out though and rebooted.

I cleaned the clips as they were in pretty good shape but your point us a good one. I'm off to the market tomorrow to get some new ones for coolent system.

The replacement tanks going to get another coat of paint tomorrow.... I scraped it putting it back in before it was fully dry.

Are these tanks still possible to buy?
