I have 2 mk1s outside with them both this way, the selecta also had them this way.... But hey, my 4x4 badges are on the wrong way as well!

That's what I was thinking. The idea is to protect the disk and also to stop small stones etc from getting in. Maybe the folks at Fiat had been on the vino and did a whole batch of them this way lol

No, probably just depends which box they put which side, the guy on that corner just put on whatever was closest. There's a fair chance a load went out with 2 right guards on.

It's like the side windows... -- either all left, on both sides; or all right (IYSWIM). Not yet found a Panda with FIAT logos the correct way round on both sides...!

update,

Swapped over the buggered slave cylinder, no photos of that as my hands were bent, broken and bleed replacing that thing, access is fun!

Also swapped over to the solid bonnet bought of Allen, the scrap man turned up at just the right time to take the old one!

I have the mechanical side pretty much sorted now, just waiting to do the lines now!

So, started on the interior, I hated the brown carpet so have cleaned up the black on I have.

The good news is the floor pan is good from the top, the corners are good, the seat belt areas are good.

The bad news is there is a lot of cleaning to do!

Yes, The mk2 one wouldn't fit at the seat runners are differnt

Just also re-flushed the gearbox oil and stuck the battery tray on

Had a little time before work this morning,

Gear linkage was rubbish, sloppy and often hard to use. So I went to have a look while access is easy.

Well it needs a clean up, and that top bolt needs a washer inside and to be nipped up as there is far far to much movement... but then I noticed something:

After about 3 mins of trying to fish it out:

You little sod!

im shocked that rubber boot linkage housing thingy is still living! mine on both pandas has totally gone!

One of the last big pushes this weekend, I have spent an age rebuilding the brakes but still had no lines, on removal of the rear slaves they sheared and the front flexys were dead as well as the lines looking nasty.

So this weekend I finished off the car transporter, needs more work!
hooked the panda up to last months project

Took it to a nice warm place to work on with much much larger equipment

and cracked on with the task of running new rear lines, a new center line, new lines for.... well, we did every bloody line!

took about 3 hours in total to flange, bend, fit.. and then a hour to bleed the system as it just didnt want to play!

end result, I have very good working brakes

Project is now on hold however due to a family issue so no spanner time for the next few weeks.

good stuff man! its all well and good having a pit but to have the use of a post lift thats something else.

i hope its nothing bad mate... the car looks almost done. when you first get in to drive it you will have a smile on your face!

I bring to you, Seat cover removal and frame painting!

This foam should come with a health warning, may/will come with 30 years of bum sweat

Only the best will do!

My back is already thanking me.....
