Hi Nnadine
I hope this might give u & ur dad a little giggle.
In May of this yr i purchased a brava 100sx
16v automatic after taking sed vehicle 4 a test drive,
when i got back 2 the garage i sed 2 the sales wot a luvly car i'll have. When i went 2 pick the car up the salesman told me the car has a missfire wo'nt b ready till 2morro. went 2 pick the car up the following day, the salesman sed we had 2 put new h.t leads on the cars ready u can take it away as i went 2 drive off noticed engine was very slugish so i sed 2 the salesman
the cars still got a missfire & the injection warning
lite is on so he had it back took em a wk 2 fix told me it was a faulty injector. I had the car back 3days
bcos reading notes on this forum i put the strange noise i was hearing down 2 the c/belt tensioner, & sure
enough wot i had read was rite (thank u nige patrick &
all the others who mentioned it) agen it took them a wk 2 fix should of only took a day if that.
when they brought the car 2 me i noticed the stop light strip light had bulbs that was'nt working the salesman gave me a tenner 2 get new 1s on replacing the bulbs i found that the light unit had corroded, so back 2 the garage agen, i told the salesman while u have the car plz check the heavy fuel consumption only
doing 20mpg, when i picked the car up i noticed a squeak whenever i applied the brakes so i thought nothing serious only the the rear brake back plates need greasing i'll do it when i feel like doing it well this wk end i had a look rear shoes have about 3000 miles of service left on them otherwise they'er ok
then i thought check the wheel cylinders & sure enough
they are leaking but not enough 2 b seen had 2 pull the dust covers away 2 notice fluid under them. The car is booked in 4 thursday 2 have the brakes done. I
should mention though the car is a 1997 only done 45k
& has 12 mnts waranty. the laugh is u would think a qualified mechanic would know better than 2 buy a car with so many faults. but i must admit i love the car.
