Technical 3rd gear sounds like im driving an old mini

hello peeps
has any one got any ideas y my multipla jtd sounds a bit like an old mini when im in 3rd gear its only just started to make the noise any advice would be a great help

IMO sounds like a chipped gear/syncro on the way out or possibly selector not disengaging properly, if it was the shaft bearing you should notice the noise in other gears.

Drain the oil from the box and check for swarf, etc, I believe the drain nut is magnetic so you should see stuff on the end. If this gives you reason to suspect damage, then either 2nd hand box or reconditioning.
