1. When car is warming up (ie. within the first 2 miles), it sometimes makes a noise similar to a duff wiper on a screen from the engine bay when the clutch is being raised when changing gear. Something to worry about or just a winter thing? Car feels fine, nothing is loose - gears feel accurate and precise. Blah blah.
2. Is there such a thing as a performance brake drum and shoes? Or is there not much point in having such things?
Which kinda brings me onto ....
3. Was in Halfords today and they had a markdown sale on brake shoes - Asbestos free shoes for £4.99 down from £26.99. These likely to be any good?

With regards to the braking questions - I'm not fussed about performance braking. I don't drive a rally car and don't expect to be able to stop on a 10p coin when needed (that said I do want to stop, but can't see the point in buying anything much different from standard braking components as they were designed for the car and am not convinced braking is that much better with 'performance' bits).
