Gerrard had been a bit smokey recently, which I’ve put down to the lack of decent long trips and getting roped in to the school run etc.
Occasionally the engine light also comes on.. and eventually goes out again.. but I read the codes this weekend and the 235 code was in there. It said something about the turbo boost pressure sensor being AWOL. I cleared it but it came back after a while.
Is this the MAP sensor on the manifold or the electro valve under the headlamp? They’re both about 5 years old now and not genuine parts so could be knackered.. but if the beast is full of soot then the Map sensor could just be coked up.
I’ll have a chance to clean one or both out next weekend, weather permitting.. but I’ll locate and price up a new one too, just in case.
