20v v.i.s engine?

right i seen 1 on ebay..thing is,what else would i need?
i have asked if he has the loom as I know it has fly-by wire throttle instead of a cable like mine (mk1)
what would i need to get this up and running basically

mate i have heard from a few ppl that there is hardly any difference wiv the 155 from the 147.book says its point3 of a second 2 60 quicker.and 1mph more on top end. I would imagine its gona be a pain to sort out the fly by wire.

yer i know theres not much difference,but its still an engine end of day lol im in need of 1 as i want my car back on road Ill be able to get someone to do so its not a problem...

That single engine i were gona get that had 70k ,the ignorant ***** aint got back to me so im unsure if he still has it now

Ah well,he's just been in touch..He's not got the loom as he chopped it up as his ecu was fcuked so is scrappin the car :S

why is it hard to find an engine around here lol

im sort of breaking a mk1 HGT (by sort of, i mean im keeping most bits for myself)its still got its engine, its done 117k and hasn't been used since jan 08? if its any help

Mike if you can, stick with the 147. I've got 155 VIS in my Marea, pulls greater, faster?
The thing is if the VIS packs up you got more agro to contend withe.
The fly by wire throttle is a pain in the arse, I'm sure it's linked to the ECU, so will interfere when its programmed to do.Also the Vis has potentiometer fitted to pedal.
More stuff to go wrong, stick with a 147 and it looks miles better than the VIS plastic cover.

Right cheers for the info guys on the 147..Tbh,only reason i asked about that 155 is cus it was cheap and cus of obvious reasons...155 lol,quick remap with subtle mods can see about 165-170??anyway,

But really the 147 ,Think itd be easier if i can get another mk1,then its a case of dropping it straight in...straight swap

JAMES: you say you have 1 but its not been ran since jan 08? :s Think i might pass on that due to the length of time its sat for and also the mileage,mine wasnt that high..

Last but not least,that guy with the mk1 for £70 with 70k has just got back to me,saying he has only just managed to get an engine crane for Tuesday (tomorrow)..talk about pissing about last min,no way can i go get it at such late notice :' Least i know he still has it,hopefully ill have it soon

im going fri morning for this engine with 76k and recent cambelt change.Cant wait to get my car back on the road,hopefully just in time for summer

it does need new breaks (discs,pads) and also mot'in..and whatever else it fails on lol..then tax and re-insurin lol
