Ok, I added your byte list to the spreadsheet as the last column on the RHS. Give me a few mins to upload it, unless you've already done it?

Update: Your byte list added.
Please note I had to re-upload as I spotted an error in the table (a space had crept in.)

Can anyone else help with this? Is there such a thing as a TFT speedo that is “cruise compatible” vs one that isn’t?

Cruise definitely worked when the car had the previous non graphical speedo in, as I used it on the day I drove it home.

MES shows that Cruise and Speed Limiter are enabled.

I don’t know what else to do.

Do you have the old speedo? If yes swap back if cruise works you have your answer, though any work with mes might have compromised the original settings that enabled the old one to work as previously?
I still have the old speedo yeah. Would I need to proxi align it again if refitted? I’m guessing yes? Should I do that before driving it to test cruise, or after?

Thanks.

Ok, installed the old speedo just now. Didn't do anything other than install it (no proxi alignment), and cruise/speed limiter are working - at least, I can set them while the car is idling. There is an acknowledgement of what I'm doing with the stalk that is not present when using the TFT speedo:

Test drive the car on the road, if all go would appear it's the speedo like the seller stated, as it came up Abarth when installed I'm guessing it was from that type of car regardless of the fact you can chance the name so the seller suggests its not compatible?
Thanks. I don’t think I need to test drive it, simply because the TFT speedo acts like the stalk isn’t even there.

I also found this video online showing the same behaviour (the thing I’m missing) on a TFT speedo:

This guy gets the cruise & speed limiter stuff to appear while the car is just idling, like I did on my car with the old speedo.

I’ve opened a return to send the TFT speedo back, and have bought another one - hopefully that’ll work.

Just to draw a line under this, I received the replacement speedo - also bought from eBay - today, and fitted it a few minutes ago. Immediately cruise and speed limiter worked while the car is idling, showing information on the display.

So it seems to be the case that not all TFT speedos are alike.

This speedo DID NOT work:

This speedo DID work:

Physically the speedos looked identical, including everything else on the display. The one that works has a manufacturing date nearly 3 years on from the one that doesn't work.

Interestingly the mileage didn't start blinking right away, but did after a couple of restarts of the ignition. I've set the mileage and proxi aligned it, and all is well.

Phew! Thanks everyone for the help.
