Technical 2014 panda pop dash cam problems

So iv just come from halfords after booking an appointment to have a nextbase 512 hardwired, to be told he cant install it. Is it genuinly not possible?? Any help from here will be greatly appreciated

What was the issue.? Wiring..or the siting of it.??

Be thankful they didnt just cobble together

They said there isnt a fuse they can plug the hardwire into. Im quite suprised that its not possible and i dont want to diy hiding the wires and use the 12v socket as thats already used for a transmitter.

You can use a piggyback fuse tap in F51 (inside fuse box behind glove box) and earth it to the lower bolt to the fuse box.


The cable will run up under the door seal, you just flick it up with your fingers, across the top of the A pillar trim and then up under the front of the headlining.
It's really easy.

Is that fuse location in all variants?


Reason for my initial hesitance:

A Friend had a 2 year old fiat with a LOT
Of electrical issues..often wouldnt start on winter evenings..

Couldnt figure it out..

Got an autoelectrician to check it over.

The 2x 'add.ons' that he had paid for were on the same AUX fuse..and once done properly it behaved impeccably.

I seem to remember the owners handbook is quite clear which fuse is live, switched or inhibited and their amp ratings.

I've had three camaras in three Pandas and used F51 each time.With two of them I made another cig ligher type socket (powered by F51) and left it in the glove box.
The standard camera cables were much better shielded from interference than the hardwire kits you can buy, plus I could fit a socket splitter and use the other to charge phones out of eye shot.

I did rig up a rear camera in my 4x4 and used F50.

I have used the 12 v socket for 2 years with my dash cam..Then i use the Blue and me USB for phone charging etc.

A couple days after I picked up my new panda, I had an appointment at my local Halfords. Had bought a NextBase 412 when it was on offer. Paid the £30 installation price (which included the Hardwire kit), was done in under 30 mins.

As per someone else's post the plastic door trim on the left pops off, and the main lead runs up there and across the windscreen below the roof lining. The bottom section went below/in the glove box and earthed somewhere under there. Very pleased with them. Not sure why your Halfords said couldn't be done Hope you get it sorted.

At the moment i have a 12v splitter for use of dash cam and fm transmitter. I really want this dash cam hardwired. Should i rebook an appointment and take the handbook with me? Im so annoyed at so many wires visible near the 12v socket
