Just have had to have the suspension bushes replaced on my Fiat 500 which had 51000 miles on it . The advisory is that the coil springs are corroded should I get them replaced asap?

The coil springs are coated with a thin layer of cheap paint. The springs flex, the paint cracks and falls off. been happening to springs since the car was invented. With no paint, rust will occur. Springs are very good at having surface rust for a long time before it becomes weakening. The MOT inspector must note this, but without any further advice from him, it is probably just a fact, not a warning.
This forum cannot advise without a picture, and even then that may not be conclusive. You need more posts before you can post a pic.
You could ask the MOT station about how soon they need replacing, or whether a clean up and repaint might fix it. Cleaning them in situ is difficult, removing them should only be done with the proper tools and skillset. A suddenly escaping spring can kill. They won't escape if you work under the car with them in situ.

Are we talking front or rear, or all?
