Technical 2012 US model 500.. iPod USB lag?

I just an experiment in my 500. I found out that my iPod, when plugged in via USB, causes audio distortion, but when it is plugged in via the aux jack. There is none...

I am getting new speakers installed today and if it doesn't fix the issue, I guess I'll need an aftermarket stereo?

Or go to fiat and get that fixed. I use my iphone for music all the time with the USB. Zero distortion, in fact better quality than listening to a CD!
