Hi All,
First timer here, so be gentle;-)

My daughter’s 2011 Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 diesel multi jet has just over 100k and running well, but the engine management light comes on, I can clear the fault but it keeps coming back on! The code is reading gear lever position sensor fault! When I bought the car it sounded rough, I changed the glow plugs, and noticed two of the injectors were leaking, I pulled two of them and put new seals in, and it sounds a lot smoother now. I’ve taken it to a garage for assistance and they cleared the fault as well, but the problem keeps appearing. I’ve done loads of research but can’t find anything related to this problem, but only on automatic transmission Puntos. My daughters Punto is manual transmission. Any takers? Thanks Dez

#9 on the picture, Fiat part number 55266125, or get one from the used parts, it's common among all Punto/Mito/Bravo 2009-...

I'd also check the connector for corrosion, or the cabling towards the body computer....

Right, same car, oil light came on, but not a solid light but flashing. After stripping the oil sump and cleaning the oil pick up pipe in the pan. 🤦‍♂️ Done the reset x 2 the oil light went off…

Also, the trying to put it into reverse, the gear grinds a bit before engaging even after a double clutch!

Hello all, just a quick one, same car above, it looks like the orange injector light has came on on the rev counter, the engine light hasn’t come on and the engine is running ok or hasn’t change in anyway. Any suggestions please.🙏 I’m over seas and can’t help her at the moment….🫣

It means different things between manufacturers and models so check drivers handbook for specific vehicle

This light comes on, when the car does not manage to finish DPF regeneration for 3 consecutive times. It signals the driver to keep the car running, so it can finish the regeneration, before the filter is fully clogged. Should not light in regular conditions, car takes about 10 minutes to regen, but only after the car reaches full coolant temp (around 90 degrees C). So, if the car makes only short trips, it is normal for this light to turn on from time to time. If it lights even on longer trips, this means that DPF clogs way faster than it should (roughly once every fuel tank) and you might have a bad injector-high pressure pump-EGR or map/differential sensor and get professional help.

My advice would be to take it for a drive like you stole it, no changing up to top gear, aggressive down shifts into corners, 4/5th gear only on a duel carriage way.

For a nice 30 min drive thrash the hell of it and the light should go away.
