Hi all,

My friend has a 2009 panda. It has an interesting fault in which when the weather is warm/hot, the car will struggle to start.

In the autumn/winter, the car doesn’t struggle at all.

The car itself will try and turn over but will take many attempts before it actually starts to run.

Initially I am thinking to change the crank sensor, but that’s just off some limited research into it.

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Also no engine management lights etc to help with diagnosing it.

Many thanks !

I'd start by checking there isn't oil over the MAP sensor

It quick and free

If your car has a Rev counter you can visually watch and if the car failing to start and it's bumping up to 300 rpm then that's not your problem

After that it's down to connecting a scan took and reading the live data

It's worth checking the relays in the engine fuse box for corrosion. They can cause starting issues. The earth strap can also be a cause.
