The 3.0 litre engine has a cam chain - actually two, Drive is transmitted by two drive chains, a double 3/8" chain transmitts drive from the crankshaft to the oil pump/vacuum pump & high pressure pump shafts.
a single chain transmitts drive from the high pressure pump shaft to the camshafts.
I bizarrely had an argument in a local tyre shop yesterday over timing chains,
He swore that they need changing at 80,000 mile intervals!!
And he spent ages on his computer to no avail lol
Guess I must be nearly 4 chain changes behind then...

Hi, I need to replace my high pressure fuel pump on my 2009 3ltr power engine. Do I need any special tools and is it a easy unbolt and fit new pump...thanks for any help. Andy
