Technical 2008 Punto Grande Subframe

Hi,

2008 Punto Grande failed NCT as the subframe is rusted away.
A new one from Fiat would cost me €1551 + VAT @23%.
The car is not even worth that so I found a like new one in a breakers yard for €80 and will have a mechanic fit it.
The breakers did ask does the steering rack & wishbones connect to it, I have no idea, could anyone confirm please?
It is a long drive from where I live to the breakers, I just don`t want to drive to another part of the country, buy it & the mechanic says it is not the correct part.

Yes sounds like the breaker is describing the correct part (front subframe / crossmember). Having some pictures to hand might help alleviate any doubt, if you can get some but I expect your car isn't still up on the ramp at NCT centre anymore
