Hi all.
I have had a throttle actuator fault code up for a will but the van dived the same as usuall. Today it would not rev up and lots of smoke from the exhaust. If you kept your foot on the throttle it reved up very slowly but still did not have anough power to pull away. The van only gets used once a month and stands about the rest of the time. I've heard that the fiat ducato campers that sit about have the same fault code come up. Any ideas what it could be?

Have you checked the throttle body/valve itself ? being an X250 it is prone to the imfamous "Water ingress" problem from the very poorly designed windscreen scuttle panel allowing water to enter all sorts of electrical components in the engine bay. There are reports of these being replaced due to the above. Even if it is fitted with the engine cover (which just covers up the rusted injectors) but then also redirects the water away from the top of the engine/injectors etc over other parts of the engine & electrical components causing intermittent faults
Cheers
