Technical 2007 Bravo Aux In.

I've seen some of the threads concerning the lack of Aux in on the 2007 Bravo, but I don't feel any the wiser, if anything, I'm more confused than ever. Firstly, how do I know if I have Blue and Me fitted? I don't appear to have Aux option on my head unit - it just scrolls between Radio and CD. I don't mind getting a replacement head unit, but how do I know it has the Aux capability before purchasing? I have pictures and model/serial numbers of several secondhand units, but I don't know how to tell just by looking, or even if there is a visual indicator. Help!

The Bravo doesn’t come with an aux input, blue and me doesn’t allow music to be played through your phone via Bluetooth either, you need to load songs onto a usb stick and plug it into the usb input next to the cigarette lighter if you have one. You’ll know if you have blue and me if you have phone controls on your steering wheel I guess. I fitted the Scosche btfm to play songs off my phone through Bluetooth but it also comes with an aux cable and input, we’ll worth the money for me.

I solved this problem with an AUX to Jack cable (like this one) and with a Bluetooth Audio Receiver (like this one)
You need to remove the head unit with "special tools" (Like this)

There is an aux output in the back of the head unit, you need to connect the aux/jack cable here. Than connect the bluetooth receiver to the cable. (the jack connector of the receiver is removable) Pair the receiver with your phone and you are done.

Later i had read you don't have the option of aux on your head unit. It's really strange, I think there would be an option to select it without any trouble without any connection.

Like you, I've been on the quest for a way to play Spotify tunes without having to remove Blue&Me. I've ordered one of these recently and still waiting for it to be delivered...

I also have one of the older generation devices that some people have reported it working, but I've had no such luck. They mount as a FAT device which the B&M system can't read. So I hope to have better luck with the newer version when it arrives. I'll let you know how I get on.

I've ordered one of these and been using for a couple of months in my Bravo:

Not allowed to post links, search aliexpress for car g7 fm transmitter from FunkyJetStore.

Works alright, I assigned it to 108.0 FM but there are some drawbacks.

-Sound quality isn't the best, there is always (slight) distortion
-It doesn't have a tight fit, with spirited driving, it sometimes comes loose
-My phone sometimes seems to connect to both Blue & Me and this device at the same time for some reason, however when you would need it (when calling) that stops working

That said, it's easy enough to use and because of the lighter placement in the Bravo not a huge distraction to the interior.

Update: I've had this device for about a week or so now and I can't praise it highly enough. It cost me £1.56 and it's quite a sophisticated device. As mentioned above, it mounts itself as a USB drive with a few mock mp3 files, but these mp3 files are dynamically written to with the bluetooth audio stream. It isn't perfect, but for the price paid and the fact I can now listen to music over Bluetooth, I'm happy to overlook them:

• The most obvious issue is the 10 second delay between what is playing on my phone and what comes out of the speakers. This presumably is down to buffering and the conversion from a Bluetooth stream to mp3
• The sound quality is not perfect, but it is far better than any of the FM radio devices that I've tried before. This is probably down to the lossy compression of an already compressed stream, not to mention the low-ish bitrate. I'm being very fussy here. The sound quality is more than acceptable.
• The stream glitches every now and then but stabilises itself after a short period of time
• Because your phone is now connected to this device, Blue&Me is no longer available, so the steering controls don't work correctly. The built-in microphone on the device for telephone calls is not brilliant.
