Technical 2004 punto sump

hi guys, i have a 1.4 sporting punto, im changing the sump next week, is there anything i need to be aware of apart from the obviously sealant etc..

does anything need to come off for access?

I have no idea about a 2004 sporting however on my mk1 I had to remove the sump plate before you can remove the sump.
I know we are talking a 6 year difference in cars but yours might have one too.
Oh and I would stick a few coats of black hammerite over it for protection before you put it on.

cheersmate thats brilliant, there doesnt seem to be a plate or anything, i just hope theres nothing major to come off, i read on another forum the gearbox had to come off!?

Box doesn't have to come out that's BS.

Flywheel cover needs to be dropped or moved, manifold dropped.

There are 1 or 2 awkward bolts.

lol guna say i couldnt imagine that was the case! shouldnt be too much of a difficult job then!
