Hello
Hopefully someone will be able to help!
Over the weekend we changed the clutch on daughter in laws Punto, dispite some aggrivation with rusty bolts etc all went well and clutch seems fine now. However, now it is all back together we are unable to sellect fifth and reverse. The gear stick is seems to be 'moved over' to one side, and quite stiff. We have looked through the posts on here and wonder if the problem is adjustment in the linkages, the sellector arm on top of the gear stick doesnt seem to move far enough to go into reverse, although if you disconnect the linkage you can sellect what we think is reverse by hand, can you adjust the linkages at all? Also by error we initially disconnected the sellector arm from the top of the gear box rather than pulling the ball connection off, but have managed to reconnect this, although whether this was done at the correct angle we are not too sure.
We have posted a pic of the sellector arm and what we think is the adjustment on the linkage
Any suggections would be gratefully appreciated!
